PORTS OF CALL

Monday, July 19 - Board Ship in Copenhagen, Denmark
Denmark’s capital is sophisticated, saucy, and friendly. Stroll the fairytale world of Tivoli Gardens to take in bright lights and castles that out-Disney Disney. See the city’s 200-year-old Royal Palace and the lively Old Harbor - Hans Christian Andersen lived here. Salute the Little Mermaid, symbol of this light-hearted city. Plan your trip to stay over to enjoy this lovely city.
Tuesday, July 20 - Warnemunde (Berlin), Germany
Don’t miss the opportunity to tour into Berlin, which has visibly flourished since the fall of the Wall in 1989. The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Brandenburg Gate, and “Checkpoint Charlie” are all here. In the Western sector, browse the lively Kurfurstendamm for snazzy clothing stores, delicate hand-painted porcelain and a snack of beer and bratwurst. Possible shore excursions: Berlin and Potsdam by River Cruise and Coach; Transfer to Berlin by Train; Berlin Highlights: Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp and the Holocaust Memorial; and Wismar with beer tasting.
Wednesday, July 21 - At Sea
Thursday, July 22 - Tallinn, Estonia
This ancient port city has had many a conqueror and much history. The Hanseatic years shaped the face of Tallinn more than any other period. Walking down the cobblestone streets of Old Town you may feel that you’ve traveled back in time rather than across the Baltic Sea. Medieval walls and towers still stand tall in Old Town. Stroll and shop along cobblestone streets, walk up to the Baroque palace, drop in at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral to find inspiration in the gleaming mosaics and icons. Possible shore excursions: The Spirit of Medieval Estonia; The Best of Tallinn; Old Tallinn and the Summer Resort of Haapsalu; and Walk and Shop in Tallinn’s Old Town (one of the finest medieval old towns in all of northern Europe is right here in Tallinn).
Friday-Saturday, July 23-24 - St. Petersburg, Russia
Two days to visit the glories of St. Petersburg. The city that Peter the Great laid out on his drawing board is still dramatically evident at every turn. Cathedrals, palaces, and parks line long avenues and bridges connect a series of islands. You can’t behere without visiting the State Hermitage Museum, the largest art museum in Russia which ranks among the most prestigious and fabulous museums in the world. Its collection of Western European art is second to none, featuring Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian, and others. Also, there is a stunning collection of French art, the largest outside France, displaying works by Degas, Renoir, Monet, Cezanne, Gauguin, and Matisse. Catherine’s Palace at Pushkin, ranks as
one of the masterpieces of world art. Possible shore excursions: Peterhof; The Hermitage Museum; Pushkin: Catherine’s Palace; Panoramic St. Petersburg; Gala Evening at Yusupov Palace; Grand St. Petersburg; and Cathedrals of St. Petersburg.
Sunday, July 25 - Helsinki, Finland
Shaped by its bays and isles, Helsinki is one of Europe’s most scenic capitals. Hear a Sibelius concert or tour across the Arctic Circle to Lapland, land of Santa Claus, reindeer, and the Midnight Sun. Be sure to buy a birchbark basket. Possible shore excursions: Helsinki Highlights, Porvoo and Savijarvi Farm; Hensinki on Foot; Helsinki Harbor Cruise; Lapland, Arctic Circle, and Santa Claus Experience; Off The Beaten Track: High Speed Helsinki; and Finnish Food Tasting and Helsinki Highlights.
Monday, July 26 - Stockholm, Sweden
Nature and city planning have combined to make Stockholm one of the most attractive of the world’s capitals. Water plays an important part in city life and no fewer than 50 bridges of every shape and size link Stockholm’s 14 islands. There is so much to see in this charming city often called the “Venice of the North.” Cruise the sparkling
waterways. Navigate narrow medieval streets. Watch the snappy changing of the guard at the Baroque Royal Palace. Shop for elegant gifts, glassware, and stainless steel. Work up an appetite so you can do justice to the lavish smorgasbords. Art and history will be the focus of your tour of Stockholm. Possible shore excursions: A Taste of Ice Cold Sweden; Old Town and Millesgarden; Historical Walk on a Rooftop; Royal Palace and Old Town; Vikings and the Gold Room; and Waterways of Stockholm.
Tuesday, July 27 - At Sea
Wednesday, July 28 - Kiel (Hamburg), Germany
Kiel is Germany’s largest passenger port, a university town, and a naval base. Kiel offers a mix of maritime lifestyle, urban charm, culture, and history. This is also one of the best places to shop in the Baltic region. Travel to Germany’s second-largest city and its greenest city, Hamburg. Its grand merchants’ houses, magnificent promenades, fabulous art galleries, world class museums, shopping malls, and St. Pauli district give Hamburg a sophisticated air.
Thursday, July 29 - Copenhagen, Denmark - Disembark

knowledge of not only the specialty, but also of all additional related disciplines
which may impact it.
PROGRAM PURPOSE
The practitioner of anesthesiology must possess the scientific
background for clinical practice; maintain state-of-the-art knowledge
of not only the specialty but also of all additional, related
disciplines which may impact it; maintain an up-to-the-minute
armamentarium of knowledge and skills for the selection and use
of complex equipment, pharmacologic agents and procedures necessary
for the provision of quality patient care; manage self and colleagues
to function toward common goals in the clinical setting, the clinical
and educational institutions, and the community in which the practice
resides; serve as an expert in matters involving health care delivery;
serve as an informed manager of clinical and educational services provided,
including the acquisition and distribution of resources necessary in

are designed to facilitate the physician, nurse specialist and other
providers maintaining skills of the same kind to review and update
knowledge and abilities in one or more of
these areas vital to the practicing professional.
OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be
able to:
Apply the pertinent physical and behavioral sciences - to include
but not be limited to advanced anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, chemistry,
physics, psychology, and social sciences - as they impact and are affected by
the planning, delivery, and monitoring of anesthesia and related services inherent
in the anesthesia professions.
Explain the selection, dosing considerations with methods of administration, safe use, and
contraindications and precautions of presented pharmacological agents through the understanding
of their physico-chemical properties, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, updated uses, and
more recently developed additional, related, and similar drugs.
Outline comprehensive management plans for the group of patients discussed, whether related in
age, physical status, cultural background, invasive procedure, anesthetic or analgesic
requirements, clinical setting, adverse reactions, and/or goals of care.
Apply the principles of safety and asepsis in the performance of anesthetic procedures and
administrations, equipment use, and other applications encountered during the provision of
anesthesia and analgesia whether in the surgical unit, the labor and delivery suite, the pain
management clinic, or other more remote location of anesthetizing services.
Incorporate the appropriate recommendations and/or requirements of pertinent external
organizations, institutions, and professional groups - recognized as serving as the authority for
and/or holding the responsibility to compile and approve such tenets - in the provision of
anesthesia and related services, whether medical, legal, philosophical, ethical, or health care
management standards.
Apply the new techniques in the clinical setting of the participant.
