General Information

MISSION STATEMENT:
Northwest Anesthesia Seminars was founded 32 years ago with the primary objective of offering high quality continuing education seminars for the anesthesia provider. This remains our principal objective today and our programs are designed to keep you current in the practice of anesthesiology while at the same time providing a forum for professional exchange with your colleagues from around the world. In addition, we believe that interesting locations make learning easier.

Our seminars are described on the following pages. Just click on the highlighted Title, Location or Dates to open the brochure for each program. As program design is an ongoing process, some brochures may not be available at this time. If the brochure you want to review is not available you will receive instruction on how request the brochure via mail when it is available.

There are many good reasons to attend a Northwest Anesthesia Seminar:

1. Toll-Free phone: call for Information, Brochure Request, Program Registration, and Hotel Reservations. 1 (800) 222-6927.

2. INTERNET ACCESS: By accessing this page, you realize the advantages of NWAS's technological advances. Here you can read about NWAS, review our great program contents, investigate our exciting locations, and register for the program of your choice.

3. First Rate Faculty: At NWAS, we believe that does make the best teachers. Our faculty consist primarily of clinically practicing CRNAs and MDs who face the same daily challenges as you do in providing the best possible care for your patients. Their lectures are designed to provide practical up-to-the-minute information that can be immediately incorporated into your individual practice. You will find our speakers easy to understand and authorities on the topics they present. All have been selected for their expertise and desire to share their knowledge and experiences with you.

4. NEW and INNOVATIVE COURSES: NWAS prides itself on being the first to offer new and innovative continuing education programs. We were one of the first to offer Hands-On Regional Anesthesia courses specifically for CRNA's, first with programs on Technology in Anesthesia, Economic, Legal and Practice Issues of Anesthesia. In addition, we were the first to provide a non-intimidating environment where medical professionals could obtain their Advanced Cardiac Life Support training. Be assured that NWAS will always provide program content that highlights the latest drug, or technique that impacts anesthesia practice.

5. CAREER ENRICHMENT: Opportunities to exchange ideas and new approaches with your colleagues and learn of exciting new developments in your field.

6. EXCITING LOCATIONS: Knowing that most anesthesia providers time is limited, we select locations that give you the opportunity to enjoy yourself while receiving the best continuing education. We also plan our lecture schedules to allow plenty of time to enjoy the location.

7. ACCOMMODATIONS: We select accommodation to provide the best value for your money and that is best suited for the needs of the program and you, the attendee. We invest a great deal of time in negotiating the best rate possible for you.

8. ACCREDITATION: All programs presented by NWAS have been prior approved by the Continuing Education Committee of the AANA as well as the California and Florida Board of Nursing. All programs are Accredited for CME Category 1 Hours. For CRNAs credit hours are automatically submitted to AANA.

CME Category I Credit Hours are awarded to physicians by the A. Webb Roberts Center for Continuing Education of Baylor Health Care System, Dallas which is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education to award CME Credits for physicians for AMA PRA.

9. FOLLOW UP SERVICE: NWAS has been providing seminars for 32 years and we anticipate being available to serve your needs for many years to come. This is a valuable consideration when you discover three or four years later, you need documentation of your continuing education activities for an IRS audit, a new job application, a challenge of your Certification standings, information about a lecture your heard or address of a faculty member whom you need to contact for additional details or assistance. We are always available to help our alumni.

10. COURSE SYLLABUS: We provide the complete lecture notes from each faculty member, carefully typeset and bound in a book that will serve as a valuable reference source when you return home.

11. ADVANCED NOTIFICATION: With our yearly calendar and now via our Internet home page, we provide information for long range planning for your continuing education needs.

12. YOU HELP DESIGN THE PROGRAMS: The staff carefully review and analyze the critiques you fill out at each seminar. Your suggestions for new topics, speakers and locations help us design future programs. Your constructive criticism has helped us improve our seminars to better fulfill your continuing education needs.

13. FAD >>>> FAP: Our FAD program, has been replaced with a new program "FAP" (Frequent Attendee Points). FAP lets you accumulate points based on dollars spent with NWAS, including cruise & hotel (but not air) These points can then be redeemed for tuition. A Great New Program to Reward You For Supporting US!

14. LIBERAL CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY: We are cognizant of the fact that schedule changes might require you to cancel. Unlike most of our competitors, we do not assess a heavy penalty if you cannot attend.

15. PERSONALIZED ATTENTION: We want you as a friend, not just another registrant. Our goal is to get to know each attendee and have the opportunity to visit with you sometime during the program.

16. PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT: NWAS has presented over 1,600 educational programs. The staff are continually reading and reviewing new techniques in meeting management and organization in order to bring you better seminars.
